Sustainability

Korkhouse is proudly fully off grid.

Our cladding is crafted from cork, hense the name KorkHouse. Consisting of a grey water recycling system, high levels of sheeps wool insulation to keep you cozy year-round, and harnessing solar power for electricity.

Korkhouse is powered by ten solar panels which has been part funded by Low Carbon Dorset as part of the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund and will save over 1.7 tonnes of CO2 each year.

A charming island oasis with wood stools and a dinner table, where BBQ dreams come true. A mini waterfall at the end of our large stream that you can listen to all day, no need for YouTube relaxation sounds. The sheep and cows, casually grazing in the neighbouring fields.  Keep your eyes peeled for the occasional stag, deer, and ducks (we've named the ducks, Susan and Paul).

Back in 2021, when we were 22 and 24, we built this space as two young creatives with a passion for design and small spaces. Now, we've decided to share it with others who want to tap into their own creativity. Our vision was to create a place where you could truly live, not just stay for a few nights, giving you the freedom to craft and explore without the limitations of a typical hotel. We've spent time here ourselves, experiencing every nuance, and we've ensured it's equipped to support a comfortable, sustainable life in a tiny house. We cannot wait to welcome you here!

Our cabin is nestled near to a railway line on a viaduct, that sees the occasional train passing by.

It’s a brief moment that we believe adds to the unique charm of our location. Rest assured, the trains are infrequent and pass by in a flash, leaving you with uninterrupted tranquility.
